
The creator and the Head of the SWE Renata Danel Doctor of Music Arts is a long-term educator and graduate of Jazz and Light Music Department of Katowice Academy. Among the students who graduated from Music Academy as her students, there are, among the others, such names as: Kasia Cerekwicka, Dominika Kurdziel, Beata Przybytek, Kamil Kuźnik, Andrzej Lampert, Kuba Molęda, Maciej Starnawski, and many other singers appearing with a success on a Polish Musical stage.
SWE in a three-year course will educate and prepare talented youth to perform a profession as a stage vocalist The offer comprises an individual classes of voice emission, working on a repertoire, and selected specialized classes, which can help in acquiring ubiquitous knowledge, practical experiences and abilities.
Within the confines of 2-year course in English language, each student, depending on his/her level of knowledge of language, will be able, with additional fee, to get an international language certificate TELC (The European Language Certificate
) on four levels (A1, A2, B1, B2) recognized by Polish Civil Services and Council of Europe.
Candidates who will successfully pass the entrance examination will bet the knowledge and master their vocal techniques under the supervision of educational-scientific staff with its headquarters at Karol Szymanowski Musical Academy in Katowice.
Study at SWE is payable. Depending on the amount of admitted candidates the cost of one semester will be between 2500 PLN and 2950 PLN (account number is given the section entrance examination). Payment will be done in two equal installments – the first one up till 30 September 2010 and the second one up till 5 November 2010. Candidates admitted to SWE, who will not pay in money in specified time limit will be automatically deleted.
SWE offer is directed to youth from the age of 16 and to everybody who wants to explore a professional knowledge in the subject of stage singing.
The opening day for people who want to get additional information and consultation will take place on 23 May 2010, (Sunday) from 10 a.m. in rooms number 311 and 312, Academy of Music in Katowice (ul. Wojewódzka 33).
Classes will be held from October till June twice a month during weekends.

The aim and assumption of SWE is simultaneous take over the professional patronage of talented young people help in promoting of their talents and making the beginning of a professional life easier. Radio Katowice, TVP Katowice and Gazeta Wyborcza are media which will cooperate with SWE. In the range of classes students will use, among the other things, professional Recording Studio of Radio Katowice (in order to produce testing records) and take part in concerts registered by TVP Katowice.
Crowning achievement of three-year course of getting broad knowledge and experience will be a recital presented in the scenery of the concert studio of Radio Katowice with the participation of audience and getting a vocal certificate. Representatives of phonographic firms, impresario and concert agencies agents, searching vocal talents will be invited.
SWE is the first offer of that kind in Poland. It will ensure professional and complete preparation to the profession as a stage singer. At the same time it will take up a media promotion over so at the same time it will make a start easier on that beautiful, but still difficult and demanding profession.
Application form for the entrance examination is available in electronic version or for printing (pdf format). Application form in electronic version should be filled in up till final deadline 25 June 2010 (limited number of places). Printed version should be sent at the same time to a correspondence address. Examination fee of 50 PLN is necessary to be paid on the bank account 16 1050 1214 1000 0022 7232 8804 (ING) and with a receipt of payment a candidate should come to take an examination.
The entrance exam to SWE will take place on 3 July 2010 (Saturday) at 9:00 a.m. in chamber hall - room 1 of Academy of Music in Katowice (ul. Wojewódzka 33) theater hall of Academy of Music in Katowice (ul. Krasińskiego 27) - Jazz Institute headquarters. The exam includes two, stylistic diversify songs (one in Polish language and the other in English), examination of ear for music predispositions and an interview.
A candidate can perform musical pieces from half-playback (CD-Audio, wav, mp3) or with accompaniment (with a pianist or one’s own). A pianist should be given scores in one’s key (functions with bar division, jazz record or piano), model recording will be very welcome.
